About Deb Miller
Hello Everyone and welcome to Health Education at EHS.
My name is Deb Miller and I teach Health and Physical Education. I have been teaching in the Evansville School District for 21 years. My family and I live in Evansville and really enjoy all that this community has to offer.
I have been married to my husband Shawn for 16 years. He is a carpenter and owns Shawn Miller Construction.
We have two children Sydney (14) and Mason (12). We are dog lovers and have a fantastic lab named Obi ("Obiwon"). We are members of St. John's Lutheran Church in Evansville and enjoy being involved in our kids' youth sports programs, 4-H, and church activities.
Teaching Health class is the best part of my job. My teaching style is straight forward and matter of fact. I try to create a classroom that is respectful and caring. I set high standards for classroom work, behavior, and collaboration. I teach the value of self-respect, the importance of building good character, and how to make healthy decisions. My job is to help students become their own health advocates. Soon they will be living on their own and receiving information from all different sources. My hope is that they will have the tools to make healthy decisions for themselves as they grow into respectful, productive, and happy adults.
Please use this "libguide" as a resource. It has information that is available to the students as we move through each unit. The guide is always changing as I find additional information to share with the students.
This is just one resource I use for organizing information. We also use various programs from Human Relations Media as well.
If you have questions, concerns or thoughts to share, please contact me at 882-3597 or email me at: [email protected] .
Wishing you and your family a healthy and happy school year,
